BB Energy has secured three additional crude oil cargoes from the Republic of South Sudan, with deliveries scheduled for August, September and November 2026. In exchange, the trader agreed to relax injunction restrictions that had stopped South Sudan from taking advance payments for its crude cargoes, a relaxation that will remain in effect through the end of November 2026.
The awards settle part of a multi-party legal dispute involving BB Energy, South Sudan and other market participants. The three new cargoes will go toward paying down the amount South Sudan currently owes BB Energy, and the two sides have committed to negotiating a long-term solution for the remaining balance over the coming months.
Jas Grewall, BB Energy's head of business development, thanked South Sudan for its "positive commercial engagement," naming Minister of Finance Kuol Daniel Ayulo, First Undersecretary of Finance Malual Tap Dieu and Under Secretary of Petroleum Santino Ayuel Longar. Grewall said BB Energy looks forward to "a continuing commercial relationship" with South Sudan.
