Baker Hughes announced a new Power Frame Agreement with Venture Global and GE Vernova on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026. The framework covers up to 16 new power island units for behind-the-meter power generation in the United States.

What the agreement covers

The agreement sets the terms for supplying gas turbines and steam turbines, along with associated equipment and services, for up to 16 power islands. Baker Hughes will also provide the controls and electrical integration technology needed to run each island, including the E-house and electrical control systems.

The framework is designed to support Venture Global's continued LNG production and liquefaction. It also covers potential future LNG-adjacent data center projects.

Timeline

Deliveries under the agreement are scheduled from 2028 through 2034. Venture Global currently expects to place the first power island purchase order by the end of 2026, with additional orders anticipated beginning in 2027.

Built on an existing design

The framework builds on the LNG power island architecture Baker Hughes has already deployed for Venture Global facilities. Baker Hughes describes it as a repeatable model for behind-the-meter generation serving LNG production and related industrial operations at scale, with potential support for adjacent applications.

Baker Hughes Chairman and CEO Lorenzo Simonelli said the framework "will replicate what we have already built with Venture Global" to develop more power. He tied behind-the-meter generation to LNG operations and to the AI economy.

We reported earlier that Baker Hughes won Sabine Pass equipment orders tied to 6 MTPA of new LNG capacity; the link is here.
