Emerson (NYSE: EMR) will provide Equinor with measurement instruments, analytical technology and lifecycle services under a new strategic collaboration unveiled Aug. 24, 2026, in Stavanger, Norway. The deal includes a thirteen-year frame agreement, with options, spanning Equinor's global onshore and offshore assets.

Emerson said the technology is intended to speed up field development, keep producing assets running longer, boost recovery rates and bring more consistency to how Equinor runs its operations. The agreement builds on the two companies' existing digitalization and automation programs.

40 years of cooperation

For more than 40 years, Equinor has relied on Emerson's automation technology, including subsea multiphase flow meters, downhole monitoring systems, valves, emissions management systems, control systems, asset management systems, and instrumentation for safety, pressure and temperature measurement.

"Emerson has been a trusted technology supplier to Equinor for more than four decades," said Slawomir Suchomski, Emerson's president of Europe. He said the collaboration also supports Equinor's Norwegian Continental Shelf 2035 push, with the new measurement technology intended to lift production and strengthen reliability, while backing safer operations across the company's asset base.

Emerson is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, and describes itself as a global automation company.
