EnerMech has extended its non-destructive testing contract with Chevron Australia by five years, continuing the agreement through the end of 2031. The company first won the work in 2017. The extension keeps EnerMech, rather than a new contractor, responsible for inspection and integrity work on two of Australia's largest LNG developments.

Non-destructive testing checks equipment such as pipes, vessels and welds for cracks, corrosion or other defects without damaging the equipment itself, a standard part of keeping LNG and offshore facilities safe to run.

Under the renewed deal, EnerMech will keep delivering inspection and asset integrity services across Chevron Australia's operations. The extension builds on a partnership that has supported some of Western Australia's largest energy developments, including the Gorgon and Wheatstone LNG projects operated by Chevron Australia.

Scope of work

EnerMech's integrity offering spans advanced non-destructive testing, condition monitoring, corrosion and inspection services, statutory inspections, engineering support and specialist asset integrity work across its Australian operations. On Gorgon and Wheatstone, the company has provided services spanning commissioning, maintenance, shutdowns and ongoing operational support.

Today EnerMech delivers multi-disciplined services across Australia covering integrity management, process, pipeline and subsea work, cranes and lifting, hydraulics, valves, and electrical and instrumentation, supporting customers through the asset lifecycle.

Leadership comment

EnerMech chief executive Charles "Chuck" Davison, Jr. said customer relationships are earned through consistent performance, technical expertise and an "uncompromising commitment to safety." He said the company's Australian team has built a reputation for delivering high-quality solutions in demanding operating environments, and that EnerMech is focused on helping customers maximize value from their operations through specialist capability and integrated service delivery.

Heath Ward, EnerMech's regional vice president for Australia, said the company's local workforce, established systems and understanding of Chevron Australia's operating environment let it "respond quickly and deliver with discipline." He said EnerMech is pleased to continue the relationship and remains focused on delivering the reliability and service quality customers expect.
