The Interstate Natural Gas Association of America and The INGAA Foundation named Casey Decatur communications director, the Washington-based trade group announced Aug. 3.
Amy Andryszak, president and CEO of INGAA and The INGAA Foundation, said "communications is at the core of any advocacy organization." Andryszak said Decatur brings experience in energy communications and government relations to the role.
Decatur previously worked at M&T Bank, where she helped build the government relations team's engagement and advocacy program. Before that, she spent four years on the American Petroleum Institute's communications team.
Hebe Shaw, executive director of The INGAA Foundation, said the group looks forward to working with Decatur to publicize its research on issues facing the nation's natural gas infrastructure. Shaw said "promoting our work across a wide array of stakeholders and communities" is key to the Foundation's mission.
Decatur said she looks forward to "working with our talented team of subject matter experts and member companies." She holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Michigan and a master's degree in political communication from American University.
INGAA represents the natural gas pipeline industry, whose members operate about 200,000 miles of pipelines linking producers and consumers. The INGAA Foundation, formed by INGAA in 1990, works to help ensure safe, efficient and reliable operation of the North American natural gas transmission system.
