KBR has won a contract from Saudi Aramco to upgrade offshore processing, gas compression and power infrastructure at the Marjan field in the Arabian Gulf. Under the deal, KBR will provide engineering and project execution services for key offshore facilities within the field.

KBR said the work is meant to maintain Marjan's production capacity following recent field developments there. The project is also meant to advance associated gas processing capabilities and strengthen the long-term performance of offshore assets through digital technologies, automation and power system upgrades, the company said.

Jay Ibrahim, president of KBR's Sustainable Technology Solutions business, said the award "reflects our long project execution relationship with Aramco." He said the company is combining its offshore engineering expertise with automation and digital integration on the project.

KBR has supported energy projects across the Middle East for decades, working on engineering, technology and program management. The engineering work for this contract is expected to run mainly from KBR's offices in Houston and Al-Khobar.
