SAMDUO opened direct online sales of its Nex E6000 and Nex E6000H home battery systems in the Netherlands on July 13, 2026, giving households a way to store solar power before the country's net metering arrangement ends. From January 1, 2027, Dutch homeowners with solar panels will no longer be able to offset the surplus electricity they feed into the grid against the power they use later, a change that alters how solar households capture value from their panels.

Both AC-coupled systems store surplus solar output for use when grid electricity costs more. The Nex E6000 is built for tight spaces: at 11.9cm deep, it fits narrow walls and carries a 3mm tempered-glass panel. It won a Red Dot Design Award in the Tools, Industrial Equipment and Machinery category. The Nex E6000H is sized closer to a 23-liter microwave and is meant for garages, basements and storage rooms. Both run fanless, so SAMDUO says they operate without noticeable noise, and each can output up to 2600VA, enough to keep a refrigerator, lighting, laptops and phones running during an outage.

Software tracks Dutch electricity tariffs

The batteries connect to more than 800 European energy providers and respond to dynamic Dutch electricity tariffs. SAMDUO Intelligence, the company's software layer, combines that pricing data with a household's consumption pattern and local weather forecasts to time charging and discharging, storing power when solar output is high or prices are low, then drawing it down when demand and prices rise. SAMDUO says the approach can save a household up to €1,584 a year, a figure based on its own internal calculations that it notes will vary with solar generation, consumption and local prices. Setup runs through an 800W on-grid connection and the SAMDUO App, and the system links to a home's P1 meter and third-party tools such as everHome EcoTracker and HomeWizard P1.

Rated for a 15-year life

The Nex E Series uses 314Ah LFP battery cells from Tier 1 suppliers and has passed the Nail Penetration Test, a check on how a battery holds up when its cells are physically pierced. SAMDUO backs the system with a 10-year warranty, up to 10,000 charge cycles and an expected lifespan of up to 15 years. A single setup can also expand to as many as 15 units through SAMDUO's PowerMesh technology as a household's energy needs grow.
