Sieyuan Hertz finished delivering high-voltage bushings for 17 power transformers to a key substation on Greece's national grid, completing the order in five months. The Chinese manufacturer, a subsidiary of Sieyuan Electric, supplied resin-impregnated paper (RIP) bushings rated up to 420 kV for the transformers, which are each rated at 280MVA/400kV.
What the bushings do
A bushing carries a high-voltage conductor through a transformer's grounded tank wall without a short circuit. Sieyuan Hertz's RIP design insulates with resin-impregnated paper instead of oil or gas, which the company says gives the units an oil-free, gas-free dry structure with built-in flame and explosion protection and no routine maintenance.

The project team chose the RIP bushings to keep the power grid connection on schedule while meeting local requirements for high safety, high reliability and low-carbon performance, according to Sieyuan Hertz.

Sieyuan Hertz says it is one of the few companies worldwide that can independently research, manufacture and test bushings across all voltage levels, giving it control over the full chain from design to production. Its broader product line includes instrument transformers up to 1000 kV, AC RIP bushings up to 800 kV, and DC RIP bushings up to plus or minus 800 kV. The company says it plans to keep expanding in key global markets to support power grid modernization and the energy transition.
