Targa Resources Corp named Brent B. Secrest as its next president of logistics and transportation and promoted Benjamin J. Branstetter to chief financial officer, the Houston-based midstream company said on Aug. 25. Both moves take effect Sept. 1, 2026.
Secrest joins Targa from Enterprise Products Partners, where he served as executive vice president and chief commercial officer, overseeing commercial activities across natural gas, NGLs, crude oil, petrochemicals and exports. He has more than two decades of midstream experience.
Targa Resources hired Branstetter in April 2017. He became president of logistics and transportation in March 2026 and now moves into the CFO role. At Targa he helped lead the commercialization of NGL transportation and fractionation projects and the expansion of the company's natural gas residue business. Before joining Targa, he worked in investment banking, corporate strategy and risk management.
William A. Byers, Targa's chief financial officer for the past two years, will retire. He will stay on in an advisory role through the end of 2026 to support the transition.
Targa CEO Matt Meloy called Secrest "one of the most respected commercial leaders in the midstream industry." He said Branstetter's promotion "reflects his deep understanding of Targa's business, strategy, operations and financial priorities."
Targa's board approved the leadership changes.
