Touchstone Exploration's Cascadura booster compressor is producing more natural gas than expected in its first weeks online in Trinidad. The unit, commissioned in late June 2026 and placed into service 9 July, has field estimated gross production averaging about 16.5 MMcf/d, even with the wells still choke restricted while flowing reservoir pressures come down gradually.
The compressor start-up is one of several production optimization moves Touchstone has made across its onshore blocks.
Baraka East recompletion tops expectations
On the Central block, Touchstone completed the Baraka East 1 (BRE-1) gas and liquids recompletion in June. Field estimated gross production over the well's first 30 days online came in above expectations, at about 2.3 MMcf/d of natural gas and 72 bbl/d of liquids.
Carapal Ridge 3 workover set for late August
At the nearby Carapal Ridge 3 (CR-3) well, Touchstone has designed a coiled tubing cleanout and acid stimulation program to address a localized inflow restriction. The local service provider has fixed earlier mechanical problems with its coiled tubing unit and is now function testing the equipment ahead of a scheduled late August workover.
Touchstone is also preparing for its next development well on the WD-8 block, including construction of a drilling lease at Baraka.
