Williams Companies (NYSE: WMB) has completed its acquisition of Momentum Midstream's Haynesville platform. The deal adds more than 4,000 miles of pipe, over 1 million dedicated acres and 6 Bcf/d of gathering capacity to Williams' natural gas network, along with multiple processing and treating facilities and three take-or-pay pipelines carrying a combined 4.05 Bcf/d of transportation capacity.

Gathering capacity is the volume of gas a system can collect from wells and move toward processing plants and pipelines. A take-or-pay pipeline contract requires the shipper to pay for its reserved capacity whether or not it uses the full volume.
Haynesville position
Williams called the Haynesville the nation's fastest-growing natural gas supply basin. The company said the acquisition strengthens the connection between that supply and growing demand, and creates opportunities for further expansions beyond the two it has already announced.
Williams said the completed deal gives it what it called a premier Haynesville position, adding that this strengthens its ability to serve growing LNG, power and industrial demand along the Gulf Coast.
Williams says it delivers about one third of the nation's natural gas.
