Azio AI Holdings, Inc. named Atlas One the first phase of Project Atlas, its 548-plus-acre compute campus in South Texas designed for up to 500 MW of planned behind-the-meter power capacity. The company has secured about 11 MW of behind-the-meter natural gas capacity at the site, and about 6 MW of that is active and running at roughly 97.8% uptime.

Atlas One brings the land, power, connectivity and compute equipment Azio has announced piece by piece since May 2026 under one project name, and sets the framework for phased development toward AI and dense compute hosting on the property.

Power first, then a test workload

Azio's approach at the site has been sequential: secure power, put a workload on it, then expand only against demonstrated performance. The company secured behind-the-meter natural gas generation and supporting electrical systems, then activated about 6 MW of Bitcoin mining infrastructure as an initial workload to test the power setup under sustained load. That deployment has run for several months at roughly 97.8% uptime. Azio said the figure reflects a Bitcoin mining ASIC workload over the period measured, not a service-level commitment or contracted availability for AI or high-performance computing customers.

Chris Young, chief executive and chairman of Azio AI Holdings, said naming the project makes clear that "the power, the fiber and the compute are one project on one site." He said "the real bottleneck is energized power" for AI compute, and that generating power on site lets Atlas One come online on the company's own construction schedule rather than waiting on utility interconnection queues.

Next: an 11 MW build-out

With that record in hand, Azio is funding and engineering the initial 11 MW phase of Atlas One: more compute containers, generation, electrical infrastructure, pipeline and metering work backed by gas studies and engineering reports, and fiber and site upgrades. Azio also has a Master Services Agreement with AT&T for dedicated enterprise fiber, with about $2.4 million committed to high-capacity connectivity, announced July 31, 2026.

Later phases are meant to support AI and GPU hosting and high-performance computing, plus dedicated customer capacity, while Azio keeps some capacity for its own Bitcoin mining.

Room to grow on the same land

The 548-plus acres Azio controls are designed for up to 500 MW of additional behind-the-meter capacity beyond the 11 MW secured so far. Because the land is already under Azio's control and generation is built on site, further expansion mainly depends on funding and generation equipment, not land assembly or grid access. Realizing any part of the 500 MW will need more generation, equipment, permitting, financing and customer commitments, and Azio said it plans to announce capacity as it is secured and activated rather than ahead of it.

Atlas One is the first project to carry the Project Atlas name. Azio said future sites will be named Atlas Two, Atlas Three and so on as they are announced.
