CHINT displayed a full line of power grid equipment, including 1,000 kV transformers and a 13.8 MW integrated energy storage substation, at CIGRE 2026 in Paris on Aug. 31, 2026.

The company's lineup at the event covered power transformers, medium- and high-voltage switchgear, substations, energy storage and equipment built for data centers. Under a "Green Power Grid & High Voltage" heading, CHINT presented 1,000 kV low-loss, low-noise oil-immersed power transformers alongside 750 kV natural ester oil-immersed transformers. It also showed SF6-free medium- and high-voltage switchgear, including 24 kV, 145 kV and 420 kV SF6-free gas-insulated switchgear (GIS). GIS insulates high-voltage equipment with gas instead of air, letting it fit in a smaller footprint than traditional air-insulated switchgear.

A compact substation for storage and renewables

CHINT's 13.8 MW PCS Integrated Substation offers a compact, integrated approach for large-scale energy storage and renewable energy projects. Its plug-and-play, turnkey design cuts on-site installation work and space needs while supporting faster deployment and grid response. CHINT said the integrated setup also reduces system losses, and its oil-free construction lowers the risk of oil leakage, pollution and noise. The company also displayed cascading energy storage systems, solid-state transformers, solid-state circuit breakers and Data Center Power Pods.

Data center power packages

Dr. Naihu Li, vice president of CHINT T&D and head of the CHINT Group R&D Institute, said the company's data center offering is "anchored by integrated substation capabilities" running from 400 kV transmission interfaces through medium-voltage distribution, built on modular, rapid-deployment designs. He said battery storage is built into these substation packages to help grid operators handle peak demand and frequency response, and that CHINT also sells prefabricated, module-based power systems built for data centers.

Beibei Zheng, vice president of CHINT Global, said customers are "increasingly looking for partners" that deliver integrated power solutions rather than standalone products. During the conference, CHINT's engineering specialists met with utilities, EPC contractors, consultants and technology partners to discuss high-voltage transmission, substation modernization, sustainable power distribution, energy storage and data center power supply.

An unnamed CHINT customer said the company has been a reliable, capable partner as the power sector's requirements evolve.
