ConocoPhillips has named Andy O'Brien president and chief executive, moving Ryan Lance into a transitional executive chair role and appointing Konnie Haynes-Welsh chief financial officer.
ConocoPhillips's board thanked Lance for 14 years of leadership and more than 40 years of service to the company. Lance said leading the company for the past 14 years "has been a special privilege." He said the company now has "an exceptional portfolio and a world-class team" for its next chapter under O'Brien.
O'Brien joined Conoco in 1997, working through finance, planning and strategy roles worldwide before joining the executive leadership team in 2022. Haynes-Welsh was also named chief financial officer.
