Equinor bought back 415,000 of its own shares on the Oslo Stock Exchange (Oslo Børs) on 14 August 2026, paying an average of NOK 382.7682 per share for a total of NOK 158,848,803.
The purchase is part of a buyback program Equinor announced on 4 February 2026. The program runs from 13 February 2026 to 15 January 2027, with a total purchase limit of NOK 1,971,000,000 and a cap of 19,600,000 shares. Equinor can buy up to 7,920,000 of those shares between 13 February and 15 May 2026, and up to 11,680,000 between 15 May 2026 and 15 January 2027.

The shares are for Equinor's share-based incentive programs for employees and management. After the 14 August purchase, Equinor holds 16,809,915 of its own shares, equal to 0.70% of its share capital. That total also includes shares bought under an earlier employee incentive buyback program and shares bought under a separate program to reduce Equinor's issued share capital.
