Forgen is performing heavy civil construction and site infrastructure work at the Nexus Data Center project in Texas, a hyper-scale campus designed to support cloud, AI and high-density compute workloads. The work is meant to prepare the site for accelerated vertical construction.
Site scope
Forgen's scope covers heavy-haul access roads, temporary-to-permanent roadways, laydown areas, truck staging, parking areas and trailer city pads. These elements are the groundwork that has to be in place before contractors can move equipment and materials onto the site at pace.
Earthwork and drainage
The work also includes large-scale earth moving, mass grading, soil stabilization, aggregate placement and compaction, and drainage features. Forgen says this site preparation is built to hold up under continuous heavy truck traffic and fast-paced development of data center structures, generator yards, switchyards and other power infrastructure.
Company focus
Forgen frames the Nexus project as part of a broader focus on delivering build-ready sites for complex industrial and mission critical developments across North America. The company says it self-performs heavy civil, geotechnical and specialty civil construction services rather than subcontracting that scope out.
