Georgina Energy has ordered wellhead equipment from Cactus Wellhead and notified Ensign that it wants the contracted Ensign 970 rig mobilized to its Hussar EP513 project in Western Australia. All civil engineering and site preparation works at the site are complete, and the contractors have left with their equipment.
The company explores for helium, hydrogen and natural gas in Australia. Georgina said it will provide further updates on mobilization and the new spud date in due course.
Road access for the rig is still being worked out
Contractors left the site by alternative routes to avoid existing road closures. Georgina said further road works have been done on the Eagle Highway route, from the Mangkili turn-off on the Gunbarrel Highway to the Hussar wellsite.
Its consulting engineers and advisers, Aztech Well Construction and Ingenua, are developing other options for moving heavy equipment. One option runs via Leonora, along the Great Central Road and David Carnegie Highway, and connects with the Eagle Highway. For now, the company and its contractors reach the project in light vehicles on roads administered by Wiluna Shire Council. Georgina said it is working on weather-related road restrictions.
Fencing has also gone up at the site, including around the lined water storage pond, to keep wildlife out of the wellsite.
Seismic program applications filed
Georgina has submitted formal applications to the Western Australian Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration for a Hussar seismic program. It needs that department's approval and Traditional Owner cultural heritage approval, both pending, before the roughly 30 days of fieldwork can begin. The company said the survey needs no heavy vehicle access and will use lightweight techniques. Harlequin Energy is intended to fund the program budget, which is being finalized.
Resource estimate
An Independent Geological Report dated 1 February 2026, prepared by Maki Petkovski, estimates unrisked net attributable prospective resources for Hussar as follows.
| Product | Estimate |
|---|---|
| Helium | 283 BCF |
| Hydrogen | 315 BCF |
| Hydrocarbon gas | 2.93 TCF |
Using prices of US$450/MCF for helium, US$2.65/kg for hydrogen and US$8/MCF for hydrocarbon gas, Georgina puts the combined in-situ value at about US$152 billion. That figure excludes production, separation and transport costs, and the company said there is no certainty any of the resources will be commercially recovered.
Chief Executive Officer Anthony Hamilton called the equipment order and rig mobilization preparations an important milestone toward drilling.
