Google has signed a long-term power purchase agreement with the shareholders of Suomen Hyötytuuli Oy for the output of the Alajoki-Peuralinna wind farm in Finland. The deal is managed by Hyötytuuli Services Oy and follows a 2024 agreement between the two sides to increase Finland's supply of new clean electricity.
The Alajoki-Peuralinna wind farm sits in the municipalities of Perho and Kyyjärvi and has fourteen turbines. It has been in production since April 2025, with estimated annual output of about 250 gigawatt hours. Suomen Hyötytuuli says the wind farm adds to the security of Finland's domestic electricity supply.
Jaakko Kleemola, chief executive of Suomen Hyötytuuli, said the company is one of Finland's largest wind power operators and sees power purchase agreements as important to enabling new renewable energy investment. He said the company wants to sign more long-term PPAs with customers going forward.
Google's Finland capacity climbs to 629 MW
Aris Karcianis, Google's head of clean energy and power for EMEA, said the new agreement brings the company's total contracted renewable energy capacity in Finland to 629 megawatts. Google has operated in Finland for fifteen years. Karcianis said continued deployment of clean energy capacity will remain "a key part of our long-term strategy" as the company's operations in the country grow.
The PPA is one piece of a wider investment plan Google announced for Finland, which spans data centers, energy infrastructure, and partnerships in Hamina, Muhos, Vaala, and Kajaani.

Suomen Hyötytuuli and Google said they will continue developing ancillary services intended to give the wind farm's operations more flexibility and to support the stability and reliability of Finland's electricity grid.
