Saipem has booked two offshore drilling contracts worth about $121 million combined, giving it firmer fleet utilization for 2026 and 2027. The company announced the awards in Milan on 27 October 2026.
The work is the kind a drilling contractor wants on the books: two jobs, one customer group, two rigs placed.
Cyprus job for the Saipem 10000
The first contract comes from Eni Cyprus Limited. It covers offshore drilling in the exclusive economic zone of the Republic of Cyprus, using the drillship Saipem 10000. Saipem expects operations to start between November 2026 and January 2027.
Ghana job for the Scarabeo 9
The second contract was awarded in Ghana by Eni Ghana Exploration & Production Limited. It puts the semi-submersible rig Scarabeo 9 to work on offshore drilling in Ghana.
What the fleet looks like
Saipem describes its fleet as 17 owned construction vessels and 7 drilling rigs, 6 of them owned. Two of those rigs now have named work. The company says the awards improve visibility on how it will use the fleet in 2026 and 2027.
