Cheniere marks 10 years of LNG exports, targets 100 mtpa by mid-2030s

Cheniere Energy published its 2025 Corporate Responsibility Report this week, titled "Powered By Our Values: A Decade Since Our First LNG Cargo," marking 10 years since the company's first LNG cargo left its Sabine Pass Liquefaction terminal in Louisiana. Cheniere said it has shipped nearly 5,000 LNG export cargoes since that first shipment, and that the milestone opened a new era for the United States as a major LNG supplier.

A decade of Gulf Coast exports

Since 2016, Cheniere has supplied more than 330 million tonnes of LNG, according to the report, a figure the company says accounts for more than 55% of all U.S. LNG exports and about 9% of global LNG exports. Cheniere also said its cargoes made up approximately 25% of Europe's LNG imports, and that the company posted top-quartile safety performance in 2025.

Cheniere Chairman, President and CEO Jack Fusco said the anniversary "marked the beginning of a new era for Cheniere and global energy markets."

Capital plan finished early, Gold Standard on methane

The report also states that Cheniere completed its "20/20 Vision" capital allocation plan nearly a year ahead of schedule. Separately, Cheniere became the first LNG producer in North America to reach Gold Standard under the Oil and Gas Methane Partnership 2.0, a reporting and mitigation program run by the United Nations Environment Programme.

Eyeing 100 mtpa by the mid-2030s

Cheniere said it is advancing multiple growth projects and has line of sight to more than 100 million tonnes per annum of LNG production capacity by the mid-2030s. The company's Sabine Pass and Corpus Christi facilities on the Gulf Coast currently have a combined production capacity of about 55 mtpa in operation, with more than 6 mtpa of additional capacity under construction or in commissioning.
