EnCap Investments-backed Grenadier Energy Partners III brought its first three wells online in eastern Ohio's Utica play this spring, entering a basin already worked by EOG Resources, Infinity Natural Resources and Ascent Resources.

The wells, DL Mayberry A #1H and #2H and DL Mayberry B #3H, sit in Warren Township in Belmont County and were drilled with average laterals of 18,100 feet.

Early production data

Ohio Department of Natural Resources data show the A #2H averaged 20,500 mcf/d of gas from 4 May through 30 June. The B #3H averaged 19,800 mcf/d over its first 57 days, and the A #1H averaged 18,800 mcf/d over its first 62 days.

Well Average rate Period
A #2H 20,500 mcf/d 4 May - 30 June
B #3H 19,800 mcf/d first 57 days
A #1H 18,800 mcf/d first 62 days

Combined, the three wells produced 26,705 barrels of stock tank oil and 3.5 bcf of gas over an average first 59 days on production. Peak 24-hour rates averaged 26,800 mcf/d and 260 barrels of oil per day per well.

Grenadier is now drilling a second location, a five-well pad called the Sylvester Antolak, also in Belmont County, and expects it online by year end. The company holds close to 18,000 net acres in Ohio and plans to run one rig continuously starting in 2027.
