Indonesia Energy's K-29 well passes 2,500 feet in Sumatra

The company's K-29 well in Sumatra has passed 2,500 feet toward a planned depth of about 3,400 feet, with a coring job planned near 3,000 feet.

Indonesia Energy's K-29 well has drilled past 2,500 feet in Sumatra, on schedule toward a planned total depth of about 3,400 feet. The well sits at the company's Kruh Block and is being drilled with PT Bina Mitra Artha's BMA #9 rig. It spudded on 25 July 2026.

The company expects to reach its target reservoir zone at about 3,000 feet. There, IEC plans a coring job to pull rock samples and determine the best stimulation method for the reservoir based on its natural characteristics.

After reaching total depth, the well will go through wireline logging, casing and cementing, and perforation before it is readied for production.

Once K-29 is finished, Indonesia Energy plans to move to its next well, WK-5, as part of the company's ongoing drilling program at the Kruh Block. Preparatory work at the WK-5 site is already underway. Both wells sit inside IEC's 63,000-acre block in Sumatra.
