Saipem has won a new offshore contract in Angola worth about $350 million. Azule Energy Angola S.p.A., the joint venture between Eni and bp, awarded the deal for the West Hub Tails project, part of the larger Agogo Integrated West Hub Development.
The site sits 180 km off the Angolan coast, in water up to 1,750 meters deep. Saipem will handle engineering, fabrication, transport and installation of subsea infrastructure, including about 62 km of flowlines, risers and umbilicals. Those lines will connect to the Agogo floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit. The work is expected to take about two and a half years.
Fabrication will take place at Saipem's yard in Ambriz, Angola, with local companies and resources involved. For the offshore campaign, Saipem will deploy two construction vessels, the FDS and the Normand Maximus.
Saipem said the award confirms its position as a partner for complex offshore projects in West Africa and its commitment to supporting energy industry growth in the countries where it operates.
Saipem is organized as a "One Company" across five business lines: Asset Based Services, Drilling and Sonsub, Energy Carriers, Offshore Wind, and Sustainable Infrastructures. It runs five fabrication yards and an offshore fleet of 17 owned construction vessels, plus 12 drilling rigs, nine of them owned. The company is listed on the Milan Stock Exchange, operates in more than 50 countries, and employs about 30,000 people of 125 nationalities.
