New Wave Offshore Energy has won a Marine Warranty Survey contract from Sinopec International Petroleum Service Corporation, covering the second phase of the Associated Gas Upstream Project (AGUP2) in southern Iraq.
Contract scope
New Wave will act as Marine Warranty Surveyor for the international transportation and shipment of line pipe packages and other materials supplying the AGUP2 development. The scope covers independent review and approval of marine transportation engineering, shipment procedures, load-out and load-in operations, transportation routing, weather criteria and marine transportation risk management, for cargoes shipped from multiple international supply locations.
The wider project
AGUP2 sits within the GGIP, a four-part energy project in southern Iraq operated by TotalEnergies with partners Basra Oil Company and QatarEnergy. The GGIP combines the recovery of gas now flared at three oil fields to supply power plants, the redevelopment of the Ratawi oil field, a 1 GWac solar farm and a seawater treatment plant.
AGUP2 is the second phase of the Ratawi field redevelopment, launched in September 2025. It is designed to lift output to 210,000 barrels per day starting in 2028, and to position Ratawi as one of Iraq's lowest-emission oil production sites.
New Wave Offshore Energy chief executive Kyle Eddings said the contract adds to the company's marine warranty work on complex international transportation and logistics projects. "Quality, Integrity and Kindness continue to drive our growth," he said.
