A new conference called the NatGas to Power Forum will focus on the commercial deals that move natural gas from the wellhead to the turbines that generate electricity for AI data centers. The producers behind the three-decade-old LDC Gas Forums and the Gulf Coast Energy Forum organized the new event around one point made in its own materials: AI data center electricity demand is growing faster than the existing grid can add capacity, and natural gas has become the preferred fuel for new generation because it can be built quickly, runs reliably, stays affordable, and offers a secure supply.

What the agenda covers

The forum makes up part of a six-event 2026 LDC Gas Forum series. Its sessions will cover a market overview of data center electric requirements by project and timing, a comparison of utility grid power against self-generated power, competing demand for gas-fired electricity from utilities, independent power producers, industrial users and electric vehicles, energy policy and U.S. energy dominance, utility grid rate design, natural gas production from the basins that supply Gulf Coast LNG exports, and infrastructure topics including storage and so-called virtual pipeline projects.

Organizers describe the event as a venue for producers and marketers across the natural gas-to-power chain to negotiate deals rather than pursue them separately.
