The UK government has published new atmospheric emissions guidance for EEMS, the database that records emissions and discharges from offshore oil and gas installations. The EEMS Atmospheric Guidance Phase 1 v1.0 replaces three earlier documents: the Atmospheric Guidance, the Atmospheric Emissions Calculations guidance, and the Atmospheric Simulations Calculations guidance.

EEMS is maintained by OPRED (DESNZ) and is accessible to upstream operators and Offshore Energies UK (OEUK). Access is restricted to authorized users with controlled usernames and passwords, reached through the UK Energy Portal.

Alongside the new guidance, the government's EEMS page renamed references from OGUK to OEUK, updated its links, archived the superseded documents, and removed its user group information.

Operators with questions about reporting requirements, reference data changes such as sample points and turbines, returns, or asset transfers can reach the OPRED Business Support Team at OPRED@energysecurity.gov.uk. Third-party software issues on the UK Energy Portal go to the portal's service desk at ukop@nstauthority.co.uk or 0300 067 1682.
