Wison Engineering said Aug. 14 that it had won the engineering, procurement and construction contract for Phase 2 of the Rich Gas Development project at ADNOC Gas' Habshan complex in Abu Dhabi. The EPC award is worth about US$3.9 billion, and with a related 220kV switch station included, the total contract value comes to approximately US$4.04 billion. Wison Engineering (stock code 2236.HK) called it the largest EPC contract in the company's history.

The scope

Wison Engineering will build a new, large-scale natural gas processing train for ADNOC Gas at Habshan. The scope includes:

  • Gas pipelines
  • Separation and condensate stabilization units
  • Acid gas removal units
  • Deep natural gas liquids (NGL) recovery units, which separate heavier hydrocarbons such as propane, butane, and condensate from the gas stream
  • A 220kV switch station

What the new train adds

The company said that once the train is operational, it will expand ADNOC Gas' natural gas processing capacity, add operational flexibility, and support the UAE's downstream and petrochemical sectors.

How Wison will deliver it

Wison Engineering said it will combine its operations based in Abu Dhabi with its global supply chain to carry out the onshore construction work, and that the project supports ADNOC Gas' 2030 strategic growth objectives. The company said the award builds on its expansion across the Middle East and that it plans to keep deepening its presence there and in other major oil and gas markets.
