U.S. liquefied natural gas exports averaged 17.4 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) in the first six months of 2026, 23% more than the same period in 2025, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration's Natural Gas Monthly.
Outlook flattens before the next leg up
EIA's Short-Term Energy Outlook estimates exports will average 17.3 Bcf/d in the second half of 2026 before rising to 18.7 Bcf/d in the first half of 2027.
Henry Hub natural gas, the U.S. benchmark price and a feedstock cost for LNG production, traded at $3.06 per million British thermal units as of June 15, 2026, according to EIA data.
